Business Case for new service solution

We are working with a successful sole entrepreneur on a business case for a radical new solution to a problem identified by the business owner within his business sector.
The business case takes the idea and works it through a vigorous process of detailed development, definition, investment costs and returns.
The important first step is to ensure that the problem identified by the business owner is also a problem identified by a significant segment of the customer base so that the tailor-made solution meets definite needs/wants. The customer market research is an important “holdpoint” beyond which further work will wait for a “go” decision.
The solution will then be reviewed using SAFE and VRIO tools.
SAFE is a process that will examine the solution’s
- Suitability
- Acceptability
- Feasibility
- Endurability
The VRIO process will examine the solution’s
- Value
- Rarity
- Imitate (ease to; copy)
- Organised
These tools, a thorough financial model, and a risk/sensitivity analysis will allow the business owner to define if the idea has sufficient credibility to move forward for a trial run.
